My favorite artist is Auguste Rodin. Although I tend to like less traditional art than his relatively traditional work, I think his sculptures are intensely expressive and have an emotional quality that really draws me in. Looking at Rodin’s figures, it’s clear that every muscle on every body was sculpted to contribute to the conveyance of a hyper-specific emotion.

Have you been to the Rodin Museum in Philly? It is small and packed with his art. They love when art students draw in the galleries as well. Pay as you wish donation and well worth the trip.
