Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War (2005)
Last year, I was introduced to Kara Walker by one of my art professors, and ever since then I have been very intrigued and interested in her art work.
Her artwork focuses on race, gender, sexuality, and violence– she is well known for her room-size tableaux of black cut paper instillations and silhouettes.
Above are some of my favorites pieces from her.
Kara Walker is one of my ALL time favorite artists.
