I know this isn’t a digital art class but I think the Illustrator photo looks so cool. I think the inked-out version would look exactly like it if the rest of the background was painted in as well. Right now it almost takes the shape of a shoe which I also think is interesting. Also, the spring looks very cool in the inked-out version because you can’t really tell its a spring by first glance and it leaves something to the imagination. Overall, good job!
The inking on the flower petals is incredibly precise and well-done, and something about how the spring is drawn makes it look like an old photograph. The perspective on the left brick is a little warped, but it isn’t too noticeable. It was a very clever idea to alter the image in Illustrator to make it easier to draw as well.
I love the use of Illustrator to aid in the Positive shape fusion. I would love if you could email me your process. I might have to incorporate your technique in the future.
