This drawing looks like Value Additive, in that the paper is white and charcoal was primarily added to create the image.
I love the use of plaid but it could be more descriptive of the hills, valleys and rolls if you round the plaid as it hits the edge shape. Look at this video and see how the apple lines curve as they meet the edge of the form. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiPT75pHL_8&feature=emb_title
What type of charcoal are you using? Only vine? Trilobite is great subject matter.
